单词的用法及固定搭配

affect作“发生影响于…”解，这影响也许是好的，也许是不好的，但往往指不好的。

affair有时用作love-affair解。例如：He has had an affair with the girl.

aeroplane（飞机）和airplane同义，英国人多用aeroplane，美国人多用airplane。airplane在英国也在渐渐多用起来。

aerodrome（飞机场）和airdrome同义，英国人多用aerodrome，美国人多用airdrome。现在一般用airfield和airport。

advocate是及物动词，后面不可加介词，如不可说He advocates for reform。

advisedly是“在审慎考虑以后地”，有“别以为偶然或贸然”的意思。

advise him是“劝告他”，advise with him是“跟他商量”，现在不很普通。

单数形式advice和复数形式advices在公文和商业文件里都用作“报告”或“消息”解，如According to advice(s) from our agent, business is improving。

advertisement有时用作抽象名词，如Advertisement helps to sell goods。

advertise是“广告”，advertise for是“用广告征求”，如The shop advertises its wares和We have advertised for a secondhand motor-car。
