单词的用法及固定搭配

相当于accept的名词现在是acceptance，不是acceptation。

accept和receive不同，accept是“接受”，receive是“收到”。accept a present是“接受一个礼物”，不再退回了

accent有“口音”或“特殊的语言”的意思。说某人讲什么语言有某种口音，通常用with，偶尔用in

accede 是不及物动词，不论用在何种意思后面都接 to

academy 在美国指中学，现在不及一百多年前普遍。

abundant 在用作“富有（某物）的”解的时候，后面习惯接 in ，如abundant in natural wealth 。

abundance用于可数的和不可数的名词都可以，如abundance of good things（许多美味品）和abundance of food（许多食物）。前面有时有an，但通常没有。

abstain是不及物动词，后面接from，如abstain from tobacco（不抽烟）和abstain from voting（不投票）。后面不可接不定式，如不可说abstain to vote。

1.He is absorbed in the study of international affairs等句子里的in可以改作with，但不及用in普通。

说某人 absent from Shanghai是说他“不在上海”，说某人absent in Shanghai是说他“（不在它处而）在上海”。

“不在上海”该说absence from Shanghai, absence in Shanghai是“在上海”。

abroad有“到外国去”和“在外国”的意思，但没有“从外国来”的意思，“从外国来”该说from abroad。
