1.revolt作“背叛”解，是不及物动词，不作“使…背叛”解，revolted作“背叛的”解，是不及物动词的过去分词用作形容词。the king's revolted subjects是“那国王的起义的人们”，the king's revolting subjects是“那国王的正在起义的人们”。
2.revolt用作及物动词作“使…感觉不快”或“使…起反感”解，但用作不及物动词作“感觉不快”或“起反感”解，不作“使人感觉不快”或“使人起反感”解。比较下面两句：
- The distressing scene revolted all who saw it.
- All who saw the distressing scene revolted at（或against，或from）it.
