power
1.power（前面没有a或the）后面接不定式。例如：He used to have power to order us about. a power和the power后面接of和动名词比接不定式普通。例如：He used to have a（或the）power of ordering us about比He used to have a（或the）power to order us about普通。
2.his powers of mind，his powers of observation，his powers as a novelist，a novelist at the height of his powers等表达方式里习惯用复数形式powers。He has powers but hardly any power是“他有各种才能，但是几乎没有什么权力”。
