occupancy是“（对于房屋等的）占有”。例如：During their occupancy of the house, they had it redecorated.（在他们住在这房子里的时期，他们把它重行装修了。）

occupation是“（合法或用武力得到的）占领”。例如：The occupation of the country by the opposing forces began during the winter. army of occupation（占领军）和zone of occupation（占领区）里的occupation不可改作occupancy。
