1.newspaper不可用来指“印报纸的纸”，“印报纸的纸”该用news(-)print。
2.在汉语里通常说“在报纸上”，不说“在报纸里”，但在英语里必须说in the newspaper，不可说on the newspaper。
3.newspaper有时被用作物质名词，指包东西、糊窗等用的报纸。例如：He carried a little bread in a piece of newspaper. 和I stopped a big crack in the door with old newspaper.
