fame

1.fame通常用作抽象名词，前面没有a。例如：He won fame as a violinist. 但偶尔也有a。例如：He has achieved a national fame as an expert on speed cutting.

2.of...fame作“因…而有名的”解，不论那of后面是什么词，都没有the，如Thomas Gray, of Elegy fame。指以Elegy in a Country Churchyard出名的18世纪英国诗人Thomas Gray。
