lose、miss与misplace这些动词均有“丢失、遗失”之意。
lose : 最普通用词，侧重遗失了，难以找回来。
- I've lost my ticket.
我丢了票。 - He's always losing his car keys.

miss : 着重发觉某人或某物不见的瞬间，也可作思念解。
- I missed the beginning of the show.
我错过了演出的开头。 - Her latest movie is too good to miss (= it certainly should be seen).
她最近的一部电影很好，不容错过。 - I was sorry I missed you at Pat's party - I must have arrived after you left.

misplace : 指反映东西放错或故意放错地方。
- She misplaced her keys so often that her secretary used to carry spare ones for her.
