区别辨析lose、miss与misplace

lose、miss与misplace这些动词均有“丢失、遗失”之意。

lose : 最普通用词,侧重遗失了,难以找回来。

  • I've lost my ticket.
    我丢了票。
  • He's always losing his car keys.
    他总是丢汽车钥匙。

miss : 着重发觉某人或某物不见的瞬间,也可作思念解。

  • I missed the beginning of the show.
    我错过了演出的开头。
  • Her latest movie is too good to miss (= it certainly should be seen).
    她最近的一部电影很好,不容错过。
  • I was sorry I missed you at Pat's party - I must have arrived after you left.
    很遗憾没有在帕特的派对上看到你——我准是在你离开后才到的。

misplace : 指反映东西放错或故意放错地方。

  • She misplaced her keys so often that her secretary used to carry spare ones for her.
    她经常记不起她的钥匙放在哪儿了,因而她的秘书常为她带着备用钥匙。
