区别辨析accordingly、consequently、hence、so、therefore与thus

accordingly、consequently、hence、so、therefore与thus这些连接副词均有“因此、所以”之意。

accordingly :书面用词,强调根据某种原因而得出的结果,其前可用冒号或分号,但不用逗号。

  • We have a different background, a different history. Accordingly, we have the right to different futures.
    我们有不同的背景和不同的历史。因此,我们有权拥有不同的未来。

consequently :正式用词,侧重符合逻辑的结果。

  • The knockout missed the train and consequently was late for work.
    那个大美女没有赶上火车,结果上班迟到了。

hence :较正式用词,指接下来的东西是理所当然的必需的东西,但强调其重要性。

so :用于比较随便的场合,口语中多用。

  • It was still painful so I went to see a doctor.

therefore :通常指引出一个推断出的必然结论。

  • He's only 17 and therefore not eligible to vote.
    他只有17岁,因此没有投票选举的资格。

thus :多用于书面语中,可与therefore换用。

  • With enough practice, machines may be able to recognise these implicit cues and thus display the equivalent of good judgment.
