Obviate 是一个与小站（微信公众号：田间小站）前年推送过的 deviate 有着相同结尾并且同词根 vi(a), vey, voy （道路）的单词。
其中 obviate 源自拉丁语 obvius （挡道的；逆向而行的），于16世纪90年代经拉丁语 obviare （违背、违反）的过去分词 obviatus 进入英语后，即用来表示“消除、排除、打消、使无必要”，常作正式用语使用，侧重指通过清除障碍、解决困难或绕过本是需要的东西来预防潜在的不愉快事情发生，也包括运用智慧或预先考虑来避免麻烦，比如：
