汉译英常见错误 | damage 可别用单数

原文：大火导致那栋大楼里的东西严重损毁。
错译：Fire has caused a severe damage to the contents of the building.

正译：Fire has caused severe damage to the contents of the building.

注解：damage 一词常用搭配 damage to sth 表示对某物的有形的“损坏、破坏”或“损失”时，此时不可数。只有在表示法院判定的“损害赔偿金”时可数，不过通常使用复数 damages 表示。
