深入解读
Clamor 是一个容易与 clamber （攀爬）相混淆的单词，从上面两个外刊例句不难发现该词有两种拼法，在英式英语和美式英语中分别拼作 clamour 和 clamor 。
从词源上来说， clamor 一词源自拉丁语 clamor （一声大声喊叫、一声大声呼叫），14世纪末经古法语 clamor （呼叫、呼喊、呼吁、呐喊）进入英语后，既作本义表示“持续的叫喊”以及随之形成的嘈杂而混乱的“吵闹声、喧嚷声”，常作正式用语使用，尤指人们激烈叫喊的声音，比如：

the clamor of the city
也引申指大量人吵吵闹闹强烈表达要求、责难、抗议等的“大声疾呼”，比如：
