Veritable 是一个与小站（微信公众号：田间小站）之前推送过的 venerable 有些形似且容易混淆的单词，该词源自古法语 veritable （真的、真正的、真实的、法律上有效的），最早于15世纪初进入英语。
发展到现在， veritable 主要用来表示“十足的、名副其实的、不折不扣的”，常作正式用语或戏谑用语，主要用来强调所作的隐喻合理恰当或者说与事实相符，不是虚假的、不真实的或虚构的，比如：
