The eminent architect hammered the wedge into the crack in the stone. -
Push a wedge under the door to keep it open while we're carrying the boxes of portrait miniature frames in.
Auntie Mary put a huge wedge of cake on my plate.
之间的关系”,以及习语 the thin end of the wedge 表示坏事的“端倪、冰山一角”,比如:
I started to feel William was driving a wedge between us. He has a visceral dislike of our friendship. -
Making oblique accusations could be the thin end of the wedge - soon he might start to peddle vicious gossip.
Find something to wedge the fast window open with.
I was standing waiting for a bus, wedged between two old ladies and their lavish bags of shopping.
