A Speaking Role

Mel’s son rushed in the door after school shouting, “Dad! Dad! I got a part in the school Christmas play!”
梅尔的儿子放学回家兴冲冲地跑进门里大声说道：“爸爸！爸爸！我在学校的圣诞剧里扮演了一个角色。”
“That’s terrific,” Mel said proudly. “What part is it?”
“太棒了！”梅尔自豪地说，“扮演的是什么角色呀？”
“I play the part of the dad in a family Christmas play!”
“我扮演的是一个家庭圣诞剧中的爸爸的角色”
Mel thought this over, and then said to his son, “You go back tomorrow and tell the teacher in charge that you want a speaking role!”
梅尔想了一会儿，然后跟他儿子说：“你明天回学校，跟负责的老师说你要扮演一个有台词的角色。”
