深入解读
Blur 一词比较简单，可能源自英语单词 blear （使轮廓模糊、使模糊不清），16世纪40年代出现在英语后原指“污迹，尤指道德方面的污点”。16世纪80年代起开始用作动词，表示“用墨水涂抹”，对应今义“弄脏、涂污、玷污”，比如：
- 这犟孩子的湿手弄脏了稿子。
The restive child's damp fingers blurred the manuscript.
而到了16世纪10年代后，又进一步引申用来表示“（使）变得模糊不清”，既可以表示“（使）视线、形状、界线等模糊、看不清”，也可以表示“（使）感觉、想法、区别等模糊、不明晰、难以区别”，多指像墨水轻微涂抹那般使得事物原本清晰的边缘模糊不清，比如：
- 他仰卧在长沙发上，双臂交叉在胸前。字迹变得一片模糊，在他眼前晃动。
He lay supine on the couch, arms folded. The writing blurred and danced before his eyes. - 她容易将朋友和同事混淆起来。
She is prone to blur the distinction between her friends and her colleagues.
当这个概念再回归用作名词时， blur 除了表示多因移动过快而产生的“模糊形状、模糊的东西”外，还可以指“模糊的记忆、记不清的东西、理解不清楚的事物”，比如：
- 他猛力把球击过网去时胳膊快速一晃，令人眼花缭乱。
His arm was a rapid blur of movement as he whacked the ball over the net. - 这件事发生在很久以前，我现在记不清了。我只记得那一天损失惨重。
