看到 boon 这个单词，很容易联想起 moon （月亮、月球）、 noon （正午、中午）、 soon（很快、马上） 以及 balloon （气球）和 baboon （狒狒）来。该词源自古北欧语 bon （祈求的事、企盼的事），12世纪末进入英语后最初也是表示“祈求的事、企盼的事”，但后来含义逐渐演变为祈求后“赐给的恩泽”，并最终发展成今义“非常有用的东西、益处”，多指有助于提高生活质量或给生活带来方便的有用之物，比如：
- 就是因为这个原因，电视才会给这么多人带来如此大的便利。但孩子仍应该少看电视。
